U-Frame Pawl Shaft “ SKU: 680 The Pivot Pin That Anchors the Drive Pawl in Your 3-Ton Hoist's U-Frame Assembly Precision load control at 6,000 lbs begins with components that hold their geometry under extreme mechanical stress. The U-Frame Pawl Shaft (SKU: 680) is the genuine OEM replacement pivot pin that mounts the U-frame pawl within the U-frame casting of the Lug-All model 6000-15 ” holding the drive pawl in perfect rotational alignment for consistent, reliable ratchet engagement on every handle stroke. Per the official 6000-15SH parts list, the U-frame pawl shaft (Part #680) is listed at reference position #12 ” the first component installed in the U-frame pawl sub-assembly sequence, followed by the spring support roll (#683) and the U-frame pawl (#679). Lug-All The Lug-All model 6000-15 is a heavy-duty, industrial-grade 3-ton cable come along hoist ” delivering 3,000 lbs in single line with 15 feet of cable, or 6,000 lbs in double line with 7 feet 6 inches of cable. Lug-All The U-frame pawl shaft passes through the U-frame casting bores and through the U-frame pawl, establishing the pivot axis around which the pawl swings into and out of engagement with the drum ratchet teeth. The U-frame pawl spring (Part #195) keeps constant tension on the pawl against this shaft ” ensuring automatic return to the engaged position after each stroke. The spring support roll (Part #683) distributes the spring load evenly against the pawl, preventing point-contact wear on the pawl casting ” and all of this depends on a shaft that is straight, correctly dimensioned, and properly seated in its bores. The 6000-15 features a double interlocking pawl mechanism that ensures one pawl is always holding the load ” no load brakes can slip or fail. The U-frame pawl shaft is what keeps the active drive pawl precisely positioned within the U-frame, cycling through engagement thousands of times over the hoist's service life. A bent, corroded, or worn shaft creates radial clearance between the shaft and the pawl bore ” causing the pawl to wobble during engagement, skip ratchet teeth under high load, and ultimately fail to hold the drum reliably at 3-ton capacity. Rigging Warehouse Using authentic Lug-All replacement parts means sustaining the original design integrity of your unit ” the cast-aluminum structure, robust pawl assemblies, and reliable hardware that make Lug-All hoists a trusted choice in demanding industrial, construction, and utility settings. Service Recommendation When replacing the U-frame pawl shaft, inspect the U-frame pawl (SKU: 679) and U-frame pawl spring (SKU: 195) at the same time. These three components work as an integrated assembly ” replacing only the shaft while leaving worn companion parts in service reduces the service life of the new shaft and may result in return to service issues sooner than expected. Order SKU 680 today and maintain precise U-frame pawl alignment in your Lug-All 6000-15 at full 3-ton capacity.
