Assembly line operations often require an overhead hoist that suspends and moves heavy items through multiple workstations along a linear line for extended amounts of time. If it is an industrial operation, then a 10-ton Monorail Hoist from Protek Crane Solutions can handle any task, including items that require blasting to remove rust, painting or applying protective coatings, and transportation to storage or shipping stations.
A monorail hoist travels on the bottom flange of an overhead stationary beam utilizing a trolley. The hoist or crane is attached to the trolley, so it quickly moves forward and back either by hand or by means of an attached control pendant. Depending on the load requirement, the hoist can utilize either a load chain or wire rope to lift items up and down as required.
If the overhead support structure cannot support the weight of the beam and the workload, our installation teams can construct a floor-mounted frame for the operation. Even with the additional frame, a single, stationary beam is a cost-efficient alternative to building a bridge or gantry crane. It is also a superb choice when the size of the facility restricts operating and storage space.
Two popular hoists in our inventory are the SHB100-20 Manual Hoist and the NERM100L-L Electric Chain Hoist; Harrington Hoists manufactures both and has a 10-ton lifting capacity. The SHB100 can be used in multiple environments and comes with a 20-foot lift range, which makes it valuable in industrial facilities, warehouses, and even construction sites. The geared trolley operates smoothly and efficiently and moves down an assembly line but stops easily to ensure the exact positioning for each workstation.
The NERM100L-L Electric Chain Hoist has a ten-foot lift range. Employees operate it with a standard controller with a six-foot cord, which raises and lowers workloads at 5.5 feet per minute (fpm). The trolley moves at a rate of 40 fpm and has a ten-year manufacturer warranty. The Guardian Smart Brake is a standard feature on most Harrington motorized models and has a three-year manufacturer warranty. The NERM100L-L meets all ANSI/ASME regulations and is RoHS Compliant.
