Wire rope hoists have an advantage in work endurance thanks to their construction. Unlike a chain, the rope consists of multiple, high-tensile steel wire strands woven together to evenly distribute the workload weight rather than at the points where the chain links connect. If one or several strands separate, the operator can still safely move the workload to a position and lower it onto a shelf or pallet.
